Shiny amber

Shiny Amber is sunshine in a bottle. A perfume about summer warm, about glowing resins and sunlight, hidden in the depths of ancient fossilized amber. The warm dense heart amber accord is surrounded by bright, sweet citruses and honeylike flowers. Its main amber accord has been composed with two types of amber: “vegetable amber” – sweet resins of different plants, and “animal amber” — genuine ambergris (here I used tinctured beach-harvested ambergris from New Zealand)
The aroma is shimmering with all shades of amber, it warms and relaxes. If dubbed, the perfume comes as a rich and dense amber scent with a bright, sweet start. Eau de parfum in spray-form is airy, light, and very warm, like a cashmere-silk shawl. Shiny Amber could be the ideal choice to wear when the weather is nasty and gloomy. And it smells magnificent when it’s really cold!

Ginger, lemon, bergamot, yuzu, jasmine, champaka, benzoin, labdanum, vanilla, tonka bean, ambergris.

Very pretty, with fresh citrus opening over warm amber. Both fresh and comforting. The high quality ingredients are apparent. I never before liked citrus in perfumes, but both Shiny Amber and 150 Days to Summer are glorious exceptions. The citrus in them is multifaceted, soft and fresh without ever becoming too sharp.

Shiny amber is a quite pretty spicy/watery amber-based fragrance introducing itself with a sort of neo-victorian (hesperides, poudree amber and jasmine) "aplomb" which is immediately kind of soapy-hesperidic and vaguely anisic at same time. Resins are counteracted by citrus and light/airy watery spices, overall in a quite light and versatile sort of fluidy combination. The citric presence smells classic, structured and more than vaguely "cologney" (conjuring in part a sort of "Guerlain Aqua Allegoria's royal atmosphere").
Ginger provides the initial kind of airy/aromatic/minty/anisic twist. I detect cardamom enhancing the fluidy light spiciness while a benzoinic ambery base is a perfect kind of talky shelter for a dominant jasmine's presence. Dry down, though never groundbreaking, smells more than dignified, drier, mossier and delicately refined. A vibrant, light and versatile amber's implementation which (though always organic and warm)
smells kind of neo-classic but at same time cleaner, simpler, vaguely rubbery, delicately powdery and essential. The overall effect smells as a kind of synthesis and re-interpretation of two traditional olfactory dimensions (cologney/hesperidic/naïf and powdery/talky chypre).

Shiny Amber — such a pretty and luminous amber for warmer weather. It’s not rich and heavy, like amber often is, but more transparent and glowing. And the citrus notes lifts it even further and gives it a bright almost sparkling opening. So amazing on hot summer nights.
